Year of the Rat

Jan. 25, 2020 to Feb. 11, 2021 will be the Year of the Metal Rat. It is the first animal sign in the Chinese cycle. According to legend, during a competition held by the Jade Emperor to decide the zodiac animals, the quick-witted rat asked the diligent ox to take him on a ride across the river. The rat jumped down before the ox crossed the finish line, so the rat won the race and became the first zodiac animal. The 12 Chinese animals signs are, in order: Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog and Pig.

Rat (1936, 1948, 1960, 1972, 1984, 1996, 2008, 2020): Optimistic and energetic, people born in the Year of the Rat are generally likable. They are sensitive to the emotions of others but are stubborn about their opinions. Although they have kind personalities, due to weak communication skills, they may seem impolite and rude. On the financial side, they like saving and can be stingy. However, their love for hoarding will sometimes cause them to waste money on unnecessary things. Although the year of the animal sign is traditionally the most unfortunate, ladened with bad omens and mishaps, 2020 will turn out reasonably well for the Rat. The year will have its issues, but positive factors can turn it around.
Wealth and Career: You will encounter some trials in the first half of the year but will also reap benefits in your career due to your incredibly flexible character. Success will flourish in the workplace, yielding all types of benefits. Hard work will be rewarded and clever skills, quick-thinking and optimism will drive you forward. Exclusive bonuses will come to those born in the first half of the year. Some Rats will have to push a bit harder to achieve their goals. Note that finances will not be always smooth in 2020. Hard work will result in higher income. Save and invest your hard-earned money, avoid overspending on luxurious items and vacations. Avoid speculative or high-risk investments, such as gambling or stocks and shares.
Health: You will be vulnerable to sickness, such as colds and fatigue. Eat more protein and vegetables and boost your immune system by adding vitamins to your diet. Maintain a proper diet, exercise and sleep well to stay healthy.
Relationships: Single Rats are likely to meet someone attractive easily, but there is little likelihood that this will blossom into a relationship. Married couples tend to be suspicious of each other and argue a lot. Petty arguments, financial battles, or suspicions might plague your love-life. Through open communication with each other, it is possible to avoid arguments. Most compatible with Ox, Monkey and Dragon. Least compatible with Horse, Goat and Rabbit.

Ox (1937, 1949, 1961, 1973, 1985, 1997, 2009, 2021): People born in the Year of the Ox are honest, earnest, low key and never look for praise or to be the center of attention. This often hides their talents, but they will gain recognition through their hard work. They believe that everyone should do what is asked of them and stay within their boundaries. Though they are kind, it is difficult for them to understand persuasion using pathos. They rarely lose their temper, usually think logically and make great leaders. This year, 2020, will be a relatively smooth year for the Ox. The compatibility of the Rat and the Ox will make for a year filled with blessings and advances.
Wealth and Career: You always work hard at everything and stick to finishing your tasks. You are serious and responsible toward work, and you can come up with different approaches to your tasks. Expect extra praise in the form of promotions and compliments. Revel in the knowledge that after hard work comes success. With success on the horizon, you can start something new. Start an online store, a small pop-up restaurant or a company with an old coworker.
Health: You are strong and robust and enjoy a healthy and fulfilled life with few illnesses. However, you often spend too much time working and rarely have enough time to relax. Delayed or forgotten meals might give you intestinal problems. You are stubborn and you are prone to stress and tension. Proper relaxation and regular short trips are good for you.
Relationships: You maintain a long-term relationship with your partner. For a female Ox lacking femininity, realize your inadequacies and change your attitude of indifference to affection and enthusiasm, so you will have love relationships to your heart’s desire. Try to communicate clearly. Both a single or married Ox will need to work through this slight rough patch. Listen to your partner, invest in their daily experiences, really take note of what they are trying to tell you. If you can get your partner to notice that you genuinely want to be with them, it will pay dividends. Be on the lookout, however, as you might face some issues regarding other parties, men or women, trying to pull your partner away from you. If you are looking to keep the relationship alive, fend off any advances and put an end to them immediately. Stay far away from any illicit affairs. Most compatible with Rat, Snake, Rooster, and least compatible with Goat, Horse, Dog.

Tiger (1938, 1950, 1962, 1974, 1986, 1998, 2010): Tigers are kind and benevolent, although sometimes they are likely to be impetuous, irritable and overindulgent. They rarely feel tired and have powerful emotions. Sometimes, they make rash decisions and are hard to control. They are powerful, independent, confident and brave. They laugh in the face of danger and succeed under pressure. They have a strong sense of honesty, being frank and easy to win the trust of others. They are impulsive and unpredictable at times but will get any task done with efficiency and enthusiasm, although they may want to do it alone to make sure it is done right. The Tiger has noble virtues and often stand up and fight for what they think is right. In their middle age, their fate may be uneven, but after facing their hardships, they will enjoy a bright future. They are also likely to be dogmatic and like showing off their accomplishments.
In the Year of the Rat, Tigers will live an average life, there will be times of joy, sadness and sometimes disappointment, but they are likely to reap the benefits the Rat brings, particularly in terms of their careers. They must focus on this area for the next few months and be confident in their abilities. They should use their talents for good, and their loyalty and intelligence will get them far.
Wealth and Career: Your wealth will mainly come from your career. Promotions, salary increases and all types of reward will come your way through your career throughout 2020. Concentrate on your job and try to make breakthroughs at work. But, even with such good prospects, do not slack off on your work. Do everything to climb up the ladder. Confidence in the office will get you far, and your coworkers and superiors will think highly of you. However, do not let success go to your head. Maintaining good relationships in the workplace is always beneficial. A colleague might be the one to recommend you for a promotion. Tigers in business should not be too aggressive or anxious to broaden their business scope. Any risky investment should be avoided.
Health: It is essential for you to stay on top of your well-being. It will be more challenging for your health because of the stress that will arise. Instead of ignoring sickness when it first arises, make the effort to cure the symptoms. Nipping symptoms in the bud will give you a boost before an illness turns into a multi-week battle. Focus on eating the right food as well. Stay away from too many sweets and fatty food. Keep your energy up during the busy year ahead by eating nutritious fruits, vegetables and proteins.
Relationships:
Both single and married Tigers will need to hang tight until the next year rolls around. For singles, the only encounters might be with friends. Take comfort in the fact that closeness between friends often produces a happier life and could eventually turn into something more. Feel free to go on blind dates, but do not expect to find your true love. For those already involved romantically, communication will be crucial for a happy marriage. Because the year will already be challenging for your love life, show off your best personality traits to your partner. Loyalty and trust are highly valued in any relationship, and especially in romantic ones. Work through any issues you have with your spouse, therapy could be an excellent option for both of you. Work hard to get back to a place of love and understanding. Most compatible with Pig, Horse and Dog, and least compatible with Monkey and Snake.

Rabbit (1939, 1951, 1963, 1975, 1987, 1999, 2011): People born in the Year of the Rabbit usually impress others with their sense of tenderness, grace and sensitivity. They are romantic, they avoid arguing with others and have a capability of converting an enemy into a friend. Homebody and hospitable, they like managing their houses. They can work with speed and efficiency but are not pushy or get angry easily. But they also hesitate a lot, which makes them lose many opportunities. Rabbits are not aggressive, they are approachable and have a decent, noble and elegant temperament. However, they can also be superficial, stubborn, melancholy and overly discreet. To outsiders, their kindness may make them seem soft and weak. In truth, their quiet personality hides their confidence and strength. They are steadily moving towards their goal, no matter what negativity others give them.
The Year of the Rat will not be too satisfactory to the Rabbits, but it will also not be so bad. They will have good luck in love, attracting the attention of the opposite sex. Their work and family lives will prove to be satisfying. A female friend will be able to guide them through any struggles in their career. However, they should be aware of possible betrayals from within their friend circle and prepare for mental health issues.
Wealth and Career: Those looking for a “big fat bonus” from recent work-related performance could be in for a disappointment. Communication is critical to succeed in the workplace. You will need to work on your social skills with colleagues and superiors to reap the benefits of the Year of the Rat. Cordial relationships in all office matters and social interactions paired with hard work will bring good fortune. For those who have a business, they should be able to survive as long as they are willing to adapt to market changes and demands. Help will come in the form of a female friend. Look out for this lucky advisor and be prepared to take her counsel. Watch out for betrayals though, a supposed friend might stab you in the back this year.
Health: You will have average health. Do some indoor exercises to cope with stress and tension. Be careful of extreme and dangerous sporting activities. If experiencing anxiety and depression, try to let go of your problems. Be prepared for unexpected difficulties. Try not to go near the water. Take good care of your liver and gall bladder.
Relationships: Your innate kindness and compassion will draw mates from afar. That person you have been eying for the last few months might suddenly see you in a new light. Singles and couples will experience enhanced pleasure in their relationships. Enjoy romantic dates, quiet evenings on the lawn, or cozy days indoors. For committed Rabbits, wedding bells will surely be in your future. Your irresistibility is a double-edged sword, however, and married couples should be on the lookout for jealousy and infidelity. If you are in a relationship, be cautious around flirtatious individuals. Ignore any unwanted advances and keep your eyes on your loved one. Most compatible with Goat, Monkey, Dog, Pig; least compatible with Snake, Rooster.

Dragon (1940, 1952, 1964, 1976, 1988, 2000, 2012): People born in the Year of the Dragon are usually lively, intellectual and excitable. They can clearly tell right from wrong. They are upright and frank. However, they are also a bit arrogant and impatient. Gifted with innate courage, tenacity, and intelligence, they are enthusiastic and confident. They hate hypocrisy, gossip and slander. They are not afraid of difficulties but hate to be used or controlled by others. They are not afraid of challenges and are willing to take risks. Dragons are sometimes regarded as aggressive, and angry Dragons are not open to criticism. They do not consider themselves irritating and arrogant. Instead of following tradition, they strive for a smooth future.
The Dragon will do well in the Year of the Rat. With luck on their side, 2020 should be smooth sailing. Focus on your career. If they make use of their talents, they will succeed. Work will consume them, and therefore, relationships will slip to the sidelines. Spending time alone will be good for personal growth in all areas, prioritize self.
Wealth and Career: Because you are most compatible with the Rat, success will be yours for the taking. Do not let recent financial expenditure cause worry, for you will be able to recover some of the expenses within a very short period. However, it does not mean that you can continue to spend lavishly, thinking that everything will be all right in the end. A lot will depend on your individual effort to curb unnecessary expenses. A promotion might be just around the corner, so keep up the good work and show off your talents. Now is the time to act on any new ideas for your career. A small business plan could turn into a profitable corporation. Even though you are very capable of achieving your goals on your own, teamwork is essential. Working well with your superiors and colleagues will undoubtedly help your business ventures succeed. Just be wary of your intensity in relationships at the office. It might turn off others and sway them in the opposite direction from your goals. For those in business, you are likely to secure or finalize some deals that have been in the pipeline for some time. Keep your head down and more prosperous opportunities will follow provided you play your cards right.
Health: Dragons are susceptible to colds and minor illnesses. Although it is rare to come down with something, when it does happen, it will hit hard. Instead of pushing through like normal, address the symptoms when they first show up. Use essential oils and preemptive medicine to ward off sickness.
Be mindful of circulatory and digestive issues throughout the year. Because Dragons continually go above and beyond in the workplace, they can face exhaustion easily. Learn how to pace yourself in stressful situations to avoid burning out.
Relationships: Relationships will not be the focus for 2020, rather, to explore new things outside of relationships. A pottery class, yoga or weight lifting, just about anything works. If you are lucky, you might even find someone who suits you from these experiences. If you end up in a relationship during the year, enjoy time apart. Independence is an essential part of a healthy relationship. For married Dragons, life will be smooth if you can commit the time and effort, but stubbornness might get in the way of your overall relationship satisfaction. Tread lightly during heavy conversations. Take some space to regroup your thoughts and then start over. Being able to communicate is a significant factor in a happy marriage. Most compatible with Rooster, Monkey and Rat while least compatible with Dog and Rabbit.

Snake (1941, 1953, 1965, 1977, 1989, 2001, 2013): Snakes are humorous and sophisticated. They do not like small talk or thinking about small everyday problems. In a chaotic environment, they are the eye of the storm. Snakes can hold their ground and calmly think of solutions. They are always making new plans and following them without relying on the input of others. They are usually correct, but this also comes from a distrust of others. You cannot judge a Snake by its skin. Their slow and lazy talking hides their fast-paced thinking. Behind their calmness, they are alert and observant.
The Year of the Rat will not bring much to look forward to for Snakes. While they are not as unlucky as the Horse, some Snakes will still need to be on their guard against suspicious behavior. On the other hand, fortune will come to them in the form of a friend or business associate. If they can put aside their misgivings, luck will seek them out. Success will be possible for those who put in the effort.
Wealth and Career: You will see a slight improvement in your career compared to the previous year. It will not be much, but small successes will come. Use your smarts and quick thinking to realize your goals in the workplace. Keep your nose to the grindstone, and you will see improvement. Luckily for you, the year may bless you with a guide. One of your colleagues or associates will be a stepping stone for further success. Take all of the help that they can give you. Significant changes are not advisable this year. Stay at your current position and continue to make progress there. If you are unhappy with your job, try to make money on the side through an online business or freelance gig. Wait for a better year to make a career change or a big move.
This year you will have to live within your means as finances may be an issue. Spend on things that are most important or necessary, otherwise you will end up living in debt again. Rather than thinking of spending, concentrate more on your performance at work as this could result in better financial rewards. You are more likely to incur unplanned expenses if one is not careful to stay within one’s boundaries.
Health: Your health outlook will worsen this year, not only for you but your friends and family members as well. Cultivating your health is essential for a productive year. A strict diet, daily exercise and enough sleep will help to fend off sickness, as does good genes. Be on the lookout for your family members. Male and elderly family members will be the ones more prone to setbacks. Anything you can do to improve and protect their health will be beneficial. Visit them often and try to encourage a healthy diet.
Relationships: 2020 is an excellent year to explore your emotional side. Take the time to learn about yourself. For example, the things that make you tick or what you appreciate most about being in a relationship. Being able to understand and love yourself is a great foundation for beginning new relationships, in addition to working on existing partnerships. Single Snakes will make some new connections, as long as they can be open and honest with their partners. However, take time getting to know a person before jumping in head first. Couples will need to make a more visible effort to cultivate a happy relationship. As the Snake in the partnership, make it a point to communicate and show your feelings. Holding in your emotions is a recipe for disaster. Be open and loving. If you can do that, your relationship will flourish. Most compatible with Monkey, Rooster and Ox, and least compatible with Tiger and Pig.

Horse (1930, 1942, 1954, 1966, 1978, 1990, 2002, 2014): Horses are full of energy, albeit a bit too much. Both studious and athletic, they are strong believers of chasing after dreams. Rather than wealth and fame, happiness is what motivates them. They expect others to operate at the same speed as them and do not understand why others cannot. Contradicting characteristics come from the fact that they have ever-changing emotions. They have short tempers and become angry quickly. But once this is over, they forget quickly. Their biggest fault is that they are blind to their own faults.
The Year of the Rat will prove troublesome for the Horse. The promise of fortune from the previous year has passed, and it will be a struggle to get through this year. Because the Horse and the Rat are not compatible, problems will appear around every corner. To combat this misfortune, perform good deeds throughout the year, such as community service or random acts of kindness. Although bad luck is on the horizon, the Rat does bring success to all. If they get the chance, take it immediately.
Wealth and Career: Exercise caution in the workplace. As easily angered individuals, it is best to steer clear of the things that irritate the Horse. Inevitably, there will be some unavoidable problems but try hard to keep cool. If offered, take workshops on communication and better relations in the office.
Team-building exercises are great for encouraging positive relationships in the office. Escape rooms are becoming a mega-hit for this purpose, but even simple luncheons will suffice. When in a sticky situation, remember to speak clearly with compassion and regard for the people involved. To succeed this year, work well with colleagues. The Rat will send blessings. Pay close attention to legal issues in the workplace. If left unchecked, it may hinder overall success for years to come. Assess your peer group and do not get involved with the wrong crowd. Stay on track, keep emotions low, and be a team player.
Health: Be careful to avoid burnout from a crazy work schedule. Even though your energy is high and you can work through the night, too much effort will cost you. Without a regular sleeping pattern, everyone is prone to illness. This year, anything from flu to digestive problems will be cause for concern. For elderly Horses, hip and foot problems will be bothersome. Try to take it easy and rest whenever possible.
Relationship: Not much satisfaction for single or married relationships. Single Horses could end up alone for the entire the year. If you do not make the effort, you might experience loneliness and depression. Surround yourself with others. Family is always there for comfort and companionship. Your closest friends will do their best to cheer you up. Married couples will experience a similarly unremarkable year. As a couple, you will have to jazz up your love life. Being part of an intimate activity will bring the two of you closer. However, if you are the Horse in the relationship, be wary of your irritability. One wrong word or phrase could create a bad couple of weeks. Try to remember the reasons you fell in love in the first place and the good feelings you associate with your partner. That will help you calm your mind and create better communication with your partner. Most compatible with Goat, Tiger and Dog and least compatible with Rat, Ox and Horse.

Goat (1931, 1943, 1955, 1967, 1979, 1991, 2003, 2015): Goats can persevere through any difficulty. They are strong and resilient, though their gentleness might be misleading. They have high tolerance and motivation. Quiet observers, Goats consider all aspects of anything before deciding. They never act rashly and complete tasks successfully. Goats also love children, animals and nature. They are very tidy and are often seen organizing the home. They are also generous with their time and money. No matter the situation, they place the needs of others above their own. However, their inner stubbornness sometimes makes communication difficult. Their mild personality wins them many friends. They are empathetic and always try to forgive others by understanding their point of view. In an argument, they rarely ever speak up because they just want the fight to be over. But when in danger, they become defensive.
The year 2020 will be one of wealth for the Goat, although misfortune is apparent. Be prepared, perseverance will serve you well. Even though bad things might come, the Rat will bring success in some ways. Ride out any blessings to the fullest. The careers of Goats will prove to be successful.
Wealth and Career: Fortune will favor you. Success will follow you in your occupational endeavors. Your best character traits will aid you in your journey to wealth, and perseverance, strength and motivation will be your guides. Opportunities, promotions and bonuses will be yours for the taking this year. Goats who work on commission will be able to benefit from all of their hard work. Freelance workers and caretakers will benefit, as well. Take delight in the Rat’s blessings this year. You will need to be cautious about giving away too much of your surplus wealth. It would be wise to save for the coming years of financial uncertainty. Remain careful when presented with expensive excursions for the year as well. You do not want to lose your hard-earned money in a single outing.
Health: You are not blessed with good health, generally, and this year, you will take a turn for the worse. With such a weak immune system, it is necessary to be on guard for slight shifts in your well-being.
Changing temperatures throughout the seasons will be a cause of worry. Wear the appropriate clothing, drink plenty of water, and eat superfood. Flu and fever will most likely get you down this year, but also be watchful over your digestion, tooth sensitivities and kidneys.
Relationships: The Year of the Rat will not bring you much in the way of love, relationships will be rather humdrum. Single Goats will have limited luck in terms of relationships, and partners will be few and far between. One or two relationships may bloom, but they will not last long. Instead of pining after the right person, place your energies into your friendships. You never know, you might get lucky. For married Goats, spice up your love life by thinking outside the box. Plan a romantic vacation for the two of you. Even the simplest of evenings can spark excitement. However, those who enjoy the routines of marriage need to do nothing and enjoy the year with their partner. Most compatible with Horse, Pig and Rabbit, and least compatible with Ox, Rat and Dog.

Monkey (1932, 1944, 1956, 1968, 1980, 1992, 2004, 2016): The most defining trait of Monkeys is their intelligence. As children, they win awards and praises from teachers. As adults, they gain professional recognition and make great leaders. Because of this, it is understandable that they can be arrogant. They are often disrespectful and self-centered when making decisions. Monkeys become jealous easily, especially when others are doing better than them. They are very competitive, which is both positive and negative. However, they view everyone as teachers. They are willing to listen to criticism and learn from their mistakes. They are calm and logical thinkers. Monkeys are always able to triumph and be the final winner.
The Year of the Rat will bring both good luck and misfortune to Monkeys, who will need to be mindful of their strengths and weaknesses this year. Their intelligence will be beneficial, but their irritability and stubbornness may prove troublesome. Try to channel a sense of harmony this year.
Wealth and Career: You will not share the good fortune brought by the Year of the Rat. This year will be a tough one to manage, job-wise. However, with the gift of intelligence, you will be able to triumph over rough patches if you play to your strengths wisely. Channeling your persuasiveness and enthusiasm will do well for you, especially in leadership positions. When interacting with colleagues, remember to manage your temper and be mindful of the impact positive relationships can have in the office. Colleagues will be able to provide advice when needed, so try to put aside your stubbornness and listen. Your associates will be a source of encouragement this year. As creative individuals, Monkeys can also pursue business ventures from home. Take something you love and turn it into a business, anything from writing to entertaining. Just be careful in choosing your partners because you might face betrayal in the workplace.
Health: You tend to be easily angered and agitated, therefore, maintain a balanced mental state. Take a yoga class or find a meditation guru to help with mindfulness, anything to lower your heightened emotions. Keep doing regular exercise, make sure to get enough fluids. Stay in shape to avoid any sickness caused by changing weather patterns throughout the year. Colds might be cause of concern though. Fruits and vegetables loaded with vitamin C will be necessary for good health.
Relationships: Your qualities will shine brightly this year, and suitors will take notice. Show off your best character traits of friendliness, fun and intelligence. You will attract a mate in no time! Singles should have no problem finding love this year, as people will notice your good nature and be drawn to your personality. Couples will enjoy a continued happy year together. After the previous year of intense passion, this year will simmer down, but partners will still revel in each others’ love. You will not have to worry about outside influences on your marriage. Your relationship will be immovable, rock-solid for the year. Most compatible with Snake, Rat and Dragon, and least compatible with Tiger and Pig.

Rooster (1933, 1945, 1957, 1969, 1981, 1993, 2005, 2017): Roosters are serious in their work. They are straightforward and decisive in their actions. They will directly criticize what they see unfit and are perfectionists. They are logical and good at managing teams. Family is a refuge and paradise for the Roosters. They wish for a large family, as this means that there are more people to encourage and support them. No matter how difficult something is, they will not give up. But if someone is blocking their path, they will reveal their fierce side. Roosters are terrifying if angered and get into arguments easily. Even if they lose, they will use various methods to convince others to be on their side. They just need loved ones to validate them and encouragement to find themselves.
The year 2020 will be full of ups and downs in all aspects for those born in the Year of the Rooster. They should be prepared to use their talents to their advantage in terms of career opportunities and surround themselves with friends and family. All good things come from a loving, supportive home. This year will be a year of great success and improvement. However, they should keep their emotions in check. Roosters tend to be oversensitive and easily angered. Work towards becoming more level-headed and peaceful in all situations, especially office-related ones.
Wealth and Career: You will succeed this year provided you make smart decisions and welcome support from colleagues. With such an earnest and decisive character, you are sure to shine this year. Career moves will flourish. Work with your colleagues to create the best outcome in the office. Give it everything you have for the coming year. However, because you tend to be oversensitive, business relationships might suffer. It is crucial to think clearly, take stock of others’ feelings, and always consider the situation. Avoid conversations that deal with controversy or politics. Keep talking points light and friendly and you will benefit. Gambling will not prove to be beneficial this year. Stay away from slot machines and use your money in less risky areas. Instead, spend your earnings on friends, family and fun experiences. Some Roosters would have second thoughts about passing on some wealth to the younger generation. This change of heart is triggered by certain recent incidents, either due to circumstances, society or government policies. Certainly, there are various ways to spend your wealth by donating to charitable causes or foundations.
Health: Be personally cautious about your nutrition and diet and style of driving. You will be more susceptible to mishaps. Keep your eyes on the road, accidents can happen at any time. As picky eaters, it is vital for your health to choose the right food. Make sure to focus on getting nutrients from all groups, especially fruits and vegetables. Balancing your emotional state is essential for a productive year. Stress will often be a point of contention. Try lessening your workload or practicing calming your mind. Meditation is a great way to deal with stress and create a healthy mindset.
Relationships: You will have numerous opportunities for love this year. With plenty of fish in the sea, this is your year to catch one! Be ready for romance at any moment. You might find options in the workplace or on vacation. It is always good to make a positive impression, so make an extra effort to be presentable. Married Roosters will need to be extra vigilant this year. There is a chance that you will face temptation outside your marriage. For those invested in their partners, try to keep the romance alive. Go on dates, make special meals, or plan fun excursions. Do everything you can to avoid wandering eyes. On the flipside, married couples could experience blissful news about a new baby arriving. Most compatible with Dragon, Snake and Ox, and least compatible with Rabbit, Dog and Rooster.

Dog (1934, 1946, 1958, 1970, 1982, 1994, 2006, 2018): A Dog’s most defining characteristic is loyalty. They will never abandon their friends, family or work. Honest and just, they are popular in social circles. Everyone needs a Dog friend for advice and help. They are also good at helping others find and fix their bad habits. Despite how they act, they are worried and anxious inside. As Dogs are not good at communication, it is difficult for them to convey their thoughts to others. Therefore, Dogs tend to leave others with the impression that they have a stubborn personality. When thrown into doubt, Dogs think the world is evil and complicated. Then they criticize sharply when making comments and infer that all things are compatible with their pessimistic view. Once they decide, no one can persuade them against their decision.
The year 2020 will be a successful year for the Dog, rewarding their loyalty and intelligence in all endeavors, from career to lifestyle. Friends will play a key role throughout the year, so rely on them for support during success or failure. The Year of the Pig brought fortune to their careers, and combined with what the Year of the Rat will bring, success is theirs for the taking. Be ready for real growth opportunities and overall progress. However, with everything going well, be satisfied and do not let greed take over wisdom. Throughout the whole year, Dogs should always be aware of gains and losses, so they know how to behave correctly.
Wealth and Career: Building on the fortune of the previous year, hard work and extra effort will pay off. Business ventures will do well. However, even with an abundance of opportunities for advancement, be wise. It might be better to stay in your current job. Weigh the benefits and consequences before moving forward.
Although loyalty in the workplace will be rewarded, be wary of too much risk. Do not make abrupt business decisions. Thoughtful, well-planned ventures will give you an edge. It can be better to stay in place to let the steady flow of work propel you to your end goals. With your accumulated wealth, the temptation to spend will be front and center. Be mindful of the fact that saving money for the future is worthwhile, especially to help get through harder times in the coming zodiac years.
Health: The Rat brings good fortune along with good health. Proper diet, exercise and managing stress will improve your disposition. Even with the most unfortunate of health issues, there is an excellent chance of overcoming any diagnosis. Remember, this year is one of good tidings and will be reflected in your health. The most important thing you can do for your health is to stay active and conscious of your needs.
Overworking is a definite and preventable cause of deteriorating health. Balancing all areas of life will be beneficial to your body and mind. Family members might also be dealing with health issues. Dogs should be prepared to stay true and take responsibility for family matters. Family support is especially important when a loved one is sick.
Relationships: Relationships will come easy to Dogs as they are faithful and warm-hearted. Be on the lookout for a companion. You will not have to look far for a new relationship, it might be within your close friend group. A friend can become a new partner. Bonds between friends are always a good place to start when searching for the right person. The potential is right in front of you. Love at first sight could be your new year reality. Married Dogs will experience continued good status for most of the year. Happiness and peace will be plentiful. Bask in the glow of enduring love. Although the Year of the Rat will bring success, there will be periods of weakness. To avoid negativity, focus on the good things about your partner. Pigs never suspect trickery, so they are easily fooled. Pigs are relatively calm when facing trouble. No matter how difficult the problems, they can handle things properly and carefully. Pigs are considerate, responsible, independent and optimistic. They sometimes seem lazy and lack enthusiasm. Pigs have a lot of integrity and they can be trusted.
The Pig is going to have many opportunities this year, and 2020 will be a free-flowing year with lots of gains to be made. Their competencies will improve as well. Make the most of the opportunities presented and take the initiative to accomplish more.
Wealth and Career: Opportunities abound. Deploy positive energy and enthusiasm to achieve your goals, whether a promotion, new job or raise, get on it and see real change. With a strong foundation, the rest of the year will propel you to the top and the promise of success will be yours. Partnerships or family business will not necessarily bring many rewards during the coming months. It is not a good time to expand on the business front.
Health: Be vigilant and pay attention to your digestive and urinary systems. Food poisoning will get you down at some point during the year. Choose clean and hygienic restaurants and fast food outlets where you want to eat. Exercise, try to get those muscles working for at least 30 minutes to an hour a day, even if just walking.

Go out on dates, meet new people, and watch the magic happen. A blind date might even get you on your way to finding the one. This year really could be the year of your long-awaited love.
