Arrested: Chinese nationals Lin Zhi, Yi ShiJun, Sun Xiaohui and Chen Sujo, for trying to abduct an 18-year-old woman, in Makati City, on Jan 18. Makati City Police Station report said the woman was boarding a taxi in front of her house on Einstein Street in Barangay San Isidro when six people tried to grab her. Police officers on patrol noticed and checked the commotion, causing the six to flee.
Kidnapped: Indonesian nationals, Riswanto bin Hayono, Edi bin Lawalopo, La Baa, Arizal Kastamiran, and Arshad bin Dahlan, off Tambisan in Lahad Datu, Malaysia, and reportedly brought to Philippine waters, on Jan. 15. Malaysian authorities rescued three remaining crew members of tugboat SSK 00543, a Sandakan registered vessel with eight crew members, on Jan. 17.
