Pinoy student wins silver in Australian robotics tilt

Imagine raucous, ear piercing chatter and laughter in popular restaurants and festive parties. Imagine the sounds being captured and converted into electricity.
High school student James Louis de Luna has managed to do just that, harnessing enough sound to power a machine called “Sumobot.”
His ingenuity won for the Philippines a silver medal in the Australian Robotics Challenge in Queensland ahead of the 2017 World Robot Games in Singapore, where the Philippine team finished third with 24 medals, including 10 golds.
Thailand was overall champion while host Singapore placed second. One hundred twenty-five students from 21 schools in the Philippines took part in the two-day games held on Nov. 10-11.
